Homematic IP – Motion Design System for Europe’s Smart Home Market Leader

For Homematic IP, we developed a motion design system that translates the smart home brand’s identity into motion. It forms the creative foundation for explainer videos and product animations — consistent in look, flexible in application and always on brand.

At its core is a flexible visual principle: a home as a stage, rooms, product shots, UI elements and illustrations. These building blocks can be recombined depending on the product, feature or topic. The result is a system of animations that explain technical functions clearly, present products in a high-quality way and still always look unmistakably like Homematic IP.

Since its launch in 2015, Homematic IP has become Europe’s market leader in smart home. A success story we have had the privilege of accompanying visually and cinematically from the very beginning.

Over time, not only the product portfolio has grown, but also the amount of content that needs to be explained, shown and animated. More than 200 wireless or wired devices mean one thing: it takes more than individual films. It takes a system that can grow with the brand.

The system is used primarily in explainer videos and product animations — for new devices, new features and new use cases within the smart home system.
